Following the great successes of their past performance tours:
  • 2007 - Italy
  • 2005 - Mexico, Noches Carribean International
               Dance Festival in Cancun
  • 2003 - Greece, Italy, Croatia, and Turkey
  • 2001 - The Peoples Republic of China in 2001
The 2nd Street Dancers were chosen again to represent the United States in 2007 on a multi-city performance tour of Italy, including the cities of Rome, Florence, Venice, Pisa, Sienna, Verona, and Pompeii.

These great achievements have been the culmination of 35+ years of work in our community teaching and educating people of all ages in the traditions and beauty of classical and contemporary dance.

As well as a great honor, the 2nd Street Dancers view this as a great opportunity and responsibility to represent Selma and the United States to the rest of the world.

Current world events reinforce our belief that peace-time cultural exchanges involving young people promote an understanding and appreciation for all peoples and countries.

Only through this understanding and appreciation of peoples and cultures different than our own can we achieve peace for future generations.

These opportunities bring great challenges to our community to raise the funds necessary to send he dancers to other parts of the world to convey the true spirit and kindness of the American people.
