Sensitive to shifting priorities and new opportunities within the community, The Dancing School continues to operate in the heart of "old town" Selma where it's roots began. It continues to support the efforts of the City of Selma in preserving the heritage of the city. The Dancing School is active in the community and performs at many civic functions. It has supported other civic performing groups within the community, most notably The Raisin Cain Players which it has worked jointly with for the past 20 years in presenting live theatre presentations for the Selma and surrouding communities.

The Dancing School has operated in it's current facility at 2015 Second Street for the past 25 years. Prior to acquiring it's current facility, the school was located in the old Odd Fellows Hall on Tucker Street. During this time The Dancing School has taught four generations of valley residents. The school draws students from a geographic area of Madera to the north, Kingsburg to the south, Stratford to the west and Reedley to the east.
The Dancing School is a dynamic member of the Selma cultural community and distinguishes itself through superb performance of acclaimed ballets and works based on the traditions of classical ballet. The Dancing School's repertoire also includes original ballet and jazz choreography by local and visiting choregraphers.

The Dancing School has represented the United States as cultural ambassadors to China, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, and Italy. It also travels regularly to perform at the Great America Theme Park, Santa Cruz Boardwalk and the Fresno County and California State Fairs.
