The 2nd Street Dancers are an energetic and talented group of dancers based in Selma CA.

The Company is made up of two groups of dancers, which are selected through an extensive observation and audition process. Once dancers have successfully negotiated the audition process, they are grouped together based on their experience and age:

The company was formed in 1985 for the dual purposes of:

Providing dancers an opportunity to experience the excitement of performing in public
To bring the joy and beauty of dance to the general public

During each of the last 5 years the Company has been invited to represent the United States as cultural ambassadors abroad.

In August 2005, the 2nd Street Dancers represented the United States in 2005 at the prestigious Noches Carribean International Dance Festival in Cancun, Mexico. This event featured dancers from around the world. The 2nd Street Dancers were proud to represent the United States at this distinguished venue.

In August of 2003, the 2nd Street Dancers traveled to represent the United States as cultural ambassadors visiting Greece, Italy, and Croatia. During this tour the dancers produced and performed three separate shows.

In August of 2001, the 2nd Street Dancers traveled to the Peoples Republic of China after having been invited by the Chinese government in September 2000. The dancers toured China for 2 weeks performing in multiple cities during this time.

Acting as cultural ambassadors on these tours, our dancers were able to communicate the richness and diversity of our valley, through it's people, it's products, and it's potential as an active member of the global community.
